When the Elephant crushed the Cycle.....

THE CLASH OF THE TITANS.....

yes my friends , the battle is over and the results are out...... the CM seat of one of the biggest states in our country is now back to Mayawati whose" dalit-Brahmin" experiment worked her way to victory.....
a lesser known fact is that the entire strategic planning for the campaign was done by a brahmin, an indication of how well mayawati played her cards to win over the brahmin votes as burkha dutt rightfully pointed out" one block of voters is not enough to win the battle, u need atleast two huge blocks.."..indeed the two different blocks of brahmins and dalits.....

her planning was so well structured that she would place a brahmin candidate in a dalit region and transfer their votes to him, which i say is an art by itself, as dalits and brahmins have a long history of not being cordial with one another....

if the election is carefully studied, one would notice that the bahujan samaj party( BSP), which categorically claims to be the representatives of the "dalits" and the "dwijas" and other backward classes fielded their Dalit candidates only from the "reserved wards or regions"..all other regions had brahmin candidates like the thakurs and rajputs.!!!!isn't that kinda weird or shocking looking at the BSP's reputation of being a dalit party.....food for thought right....!!!!!

Mayawati appeared set for a fourth term as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as her Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) stunned opponents with trends showing it touching the half-way mark in polls to the 403-member assembly. It won 203 seats out of the 403 seats.the majority winner."behenji" or "didi" as mayawati is known, proved yet again that she and the BSP are not finished yet.... with several criminal cases trying to bog her down and with the rising number of her MLA's being arrested for various criminal activities, she stayed put and came out with all guns blazing....it was as if she had already known that she is going to win the election, she even went on record stating her ambitions to even become the prime minister of the nation. if that becomes a reality, then we could be in a very interesting situation... god surely save us then.....

Another shock was the no of seats the BJP won, which fell by almost 50%...a trend unseen or unheard of before, due to the strong foothold the BJP had.....their dream of reaching the centre through lucknow was shattered, thanks to their CD campaign and other idiotic ideas they projected before the election....

the Congress too did not fare well, infact they lost 4 seats as compared to the last election..guess Rahul Gandhi's charm didn't quite work well for the congress. but if thought carefully, the congress never had any high hopes, their prime concern was that anyone other than the SP should form the government, so not much of a loss for them..they still have the BSP backing the UPA at the centre so just another reason to partyy i guess......

the biggest losers are surely none other than Mulayam singh yadav
and his wing man ,the much known, Amar singh. u see even Amitabh Bachchan's " uttar pradesh mein damm hai; kyunki yahan pe crime kam hai", cudn't help them save their seat......The sorry state of law and order, which everyone except the Samajwadi Party admits was a result of “Yadavisation” of the state administration, was used by the BSP as the chief plank to capitalise on the anti-incumbency factor that runs high. Voters across caste and religion were being told that the choice is between the SP and the BSP with the latter being the best relief option.

Mulayam was attacked from all fronts, some of his ministers shifting royalty right before the elections( remember Raj Babbar quitting the party and then raising farmer issues), the crime and goondaism in UP which was a grave concern for people and finally the Nithari killing incident in Noida, which gave a huge blow to the Mulayam government , were some of the major reasons for his debacle. and as always Amar singh had his expert comments on this too stating that it was the EC's conspiracy to overthrow the mulayam government..can u beat that..no wonder, the person who sed grapes are sour ,was so damn right......

Another important angle to the debacle is the connections that Amar singh had, what i mean to say is that Mulayam Singh had a very " son of the soil" image amongst the people of UP, which changed, after his proximity with celebrities and big industrialists grew ,which also added fuel to the fire.....

But something that remained the same, even in this election, was the percentage of "criminals" winning in the constituencies they contested from, which remained constant, infact got even better. In a report that i had read, out of the 203 seats won by the BSP , 53% of them were won by "criminal"Candidates..examples like Amarmani tripati( alleged killer of poetess Madhumita.. m not quite sure of her name..), Mukhtar Ansari... to name a few...
As it was percieved, UP will always be UP..occupied by Goondas, threatened by goondas and now even Run by Goondas........

wat else has UP to offer...???Wat new games is Mayawati gonna play, i'm eagerly waiting to know......

Quote: after MAYAWATI won the election, in a press conference she was asked wat were her comments on Mulayams alleged action of maligning her and her party, for which she sed " usse toh uska jawab junta ne hi de diya hain, aab ek marre huve insaan ko mein aur kitna marroon.....".....

Even though BSP has triumphed in the assembly elections I'm sure the crime rate and law and order will not improve because now you have another criminal in place of Mulayam Singh Yadav. It was just a case of choosing between two evils over here and the present CM can never boast of an enviable track record when it comes to law and order during her previous terms as CM.

@ pranav: im sure ppl in UP mite have gone with the basic philosophy of the "grass being green on the other side"..dude the point is similar to the central politics..u dnt like the bjp gt the congreess back to power else some1 else...basically the entire system itself is so corrupt that u cant expect ne party to be different frm the other..guess UP is a strong believer of " variety is the spice of life"..watever.....
